👋 Hi everyone! We are currently running on free credits and testing out Rudderstack, but our usage has spiked more than anticipated recently and I'd like to understand what happens if it turns out we exceed our 1M events per month limit?
g
Please post in #support And check which source is sending these events and then you can debug if the issue is with the instrumentation of that source.

@acceptable-xylophone-96258 tagging you since you spoke to Maiko recently.
s
Hi all, how can you check the consumed events number in a free package?
l
s
The tab is blank, I’m assuming because I’m using the free plan
l
Do you see data plane url in the connections page ?
s
N/A (Open Source)
l
Ok, so you are on open source plan and not free
s
I thought they were the same
but in this case, yes, I have the open source plan
l
Since events in open source don't go through RudderStack hosted data plane, it is not possible for us to show the consumed events
s
I see
is that also mean the 1M event limitation not applied?
l
yes
s
I’ll have a discussion tomorrow with on of your colleague to highlight what are the benefits buying a plan. Could you highlight a few comparing to the open source plan?
And on top of that, is there a UI solution for the data plane?
l
This doc might help in understanding the difference between open source and cloud plan https://www.rudderstack.com/docs/get-started/cloud-vs-open-source/
And on top of that, is there a UI solution for the data plane?
app.rudderstack.com is the UI solution for data plane
s
thank you
