 Cartesia voices are still available on Retell AI [(1) ](<https://www.retellai.com/changelog>) . On April 3, 2026, Retell replaced older Cartesia Sonic models (sonic-2 and sonic-turbo) with sonic-3 [(2) ](<https://docs.retellai.com/deprecation-notice/2026/04-03_model_replacements>) . After that date, the deprecated sonic-2 and sonic-turbo models were no longer available .

If you're experiencing issues with Cartesia voices, there have been reports of temporary outages and voice quality problems with sonic-3 [(3) ](<https://discord.com/channels/1186424376300679209/1438140278077653012>) . You can set up a fallback voice from a different provider to ensure continuity if Cartesia experiences timeouts .
