@AI Evy I wanted to ask that for inbound calls if I have a phone number on GHL and I get an inbound call, I can forward that call into the Rital AI Agent number so in that case Rital agent is going to pick up the call. If that is for inbound calling, for outbound calling is there a possibility that I can call from Rital AI's number but that call comes through the outbound call, comes through the GHL's number?

Thanks for tagging me @Dr. Uzair Afzal. I'll look through relevant sources and get back to you shortly.
### Answer For outbound calls, yes, you can make calls from your GHL number through Retell AI using the
from_number
parameter [(1) ]() . When making outbound calls, you specify which number the call should originate from . The
from_number
parameter accepts your Retell-managed or imported number in E.164 format (e.g.,
+14157774444
) . This means if you've imported your GHL number into Retell AI, you can use it as the caller ID for outbound calls [(1) ]() [(2) ]() . To set this up: 1. Import your GHL number into Retell AI using the Import Phone Number API, providing the termination URI to identify your elastic SIP trunk [(2) ]() [(3) ]() 2. Bind an outbound agent to that number so it knows which AI agent to use for calls from that number [(4) ]() [(5) ]() 3. Make outbound calls using that number as the
from_number
[(1) ]() Here's an example of making an outbound call with a specific number:
Copy code
javascript
const registerCallResponse = await retell.call.createPhoneCall({
 from_number: '+14157774444', // your GHL number
 to_number: '+12137774445', // destination number
 override_agent_id: 'agent_abc123',
}) ;
So the call will appear to come from your GHL number to the recipient, while Retell AI handles the AI agent conversation .

@AI Evy where can I find import number option in retell?
a
Thanks for the follow-up, @Dr. Uzair Afzal. I'll get back to you soon.
### Answer You can import a phone number into Retell AI using the Import Phone Number API [(1) ]() . This is done programmatically through an API call rather than through the dashboard UI . Here's how to import a number using the API :
Copy code
javascript
import Retell from 'retell-sdk';
const client = new Retell({
 apiKey: process.env['RETELL_API_KEY'],
}) ;
const phoneNumberResponse = await client.phoneNumber.import({
 phone_number: '+14157774444',
 termination_uri: 'someuri.pstn.twilio.com',
}) ;
When importing, you'll need to provide : - **phone_number**: Your number in E.164 format (e.g.,
+14157774444
) - **termination_uri**: The termination URI to identify your elastic SIP trunk (for Twilio, it ends with
.pstn.twilio.com
) You can also optionally include authentication credentials (
sip_trunk_auth_username
and
sip_trunk_auth_password
) , bind inbound/outbound agents, and add a nickname for reference . Once imported, the number will show up in your dashboard and can be used for making and receiving calls [(2) ]() .
