@AI Evy Is there any way to turn off the chatbot? Here is my scenario: the chatbot is deployed in a website via a script. Is there any way to turn off the chatbot so that the script stays in the website and people can open the chatbot, but they will not be able to communicate or have a conversation with it? Is there any way to do it?

Thanks for tagging me @dzei. I'll look through relevant sources and get back to you shortly.
### Answer Based on the available sources, there isn't explicit documentation about temporarily disabling the chat widget while keeping the script embedded on your website. The Retell Website Widget documentation covers configuration attributes like
data-auto-open
to control whether the widget opens automatically, but doesn't mention a "disable" or "pause" mode [(1) ]() . The widget requires at least one of
data-public-key
or
data-voice-public-key
along with corresponding agent IDs to function . Without valid credentials or agent IDs, the widget wouldn't be able to establish conversations. For your specific use case of keeping the widget visible but non-functional, you might need to implement custom JavaScript logic on your website to intercept user interactions with the widget, or temporarily remove/invalidate the agent credentials in the script tag. However, this approach isn't documented in the official sources. I don't have information in the available sources about a built-in feature to "pause" or "disable" the widget while keeping it visually present. You may want to reach out to Retell support or check the documentation for more advanced configuration options. Check out these potentially useful sources: [Retell Website Widget]()
