@AI Evy it seems that during a conversation with a conversational flow agent when i have a conversation node that transitions to a function. the function has two transitions which are basically a success or a fail type and then based on one of these two it goes to another conversation node. the thing is that during the tool call when i speak i can interrupt the tool call and then within the tool call state the agent starts responding. since he does not have good context etc. he just starts hallucinating all kinds of stuff. how do i fix this?

Thanks for tagging me @Maurizio Isendoorn. I'll look through relevant sources and get back to you shortly.

### Answer To prevent interruptions during tool calls that cause hallucinations, enable Block Interruptions on your conversation node [(1) ]() . When enabled, the agent will not be interrupted by the user when speaking . Additionally, based on community experience, if you're in the middle of a tool call and the user interrupts, you should complete the function call and not interrupt the agent [(2) ]() . You can provide an intermediate wait message in that case . For your specific flow (conversation node → function node with success/fail transitions → conversation node) , the hallucination issue occurs because the agent lacks proper context when interrupted mid-function-call. The recommended approach is: 1. Enable Block Interruptions on the conversation node before the function call [(1) ]() 2. Ensure your function node completes its execution before allowing transitions [(2) ]() 3. If hallucinations persist after function calls, check that your transition conditions are clear and that the agent is properly grounded to the tool result [(3) ]() If the agent continues hallucinating after successful function execution, verify that your conversation nodes following the function call have clear instructions that reference the function's output [(4) ]() .

@AI Evy there is no block interruptions option anywhere anymore and if you added fi api, it does not work anymore. what happened?

Thanks for the follow-up, @Maurizio Isendoorn. I'll get back to you soon.
### Answer Based on the current documentation, Block Interruptions is still listed as a node setting for Conversation Nodes [(1) ]() . According to the documentation, when enabled, "the agent will not be interrupted by user when speaking" . However, I don't have information in the available sources about recent changes to this feature or API parameter deprecation. For issues with the Block Interruptions setting: 1. Check the Node Settings section of your Conversation Node in the dashboard 2. Verify you're looking at a Conversation Node specifically, as this setting applies to that node type If the setting has been removed or the API parameter no longer works, I recommend: - Visit [Documentation]() - Visit [Hire certified Retell partner]() Would you like a general answer based on my knowledge instead?
