SMS capabilities are currently available only for Retell Twilio numbers and your own Twilio numbers. 

**Workarounds:**

- Use a custom function to call the Telnyx SMS API directly during the call [(2) ](<https://discord.com/channels/1186424376300679209/1460659178120024096>)
- Purchase a Twilio number through Retell and apply for SMS capabilities [(3) ](<https://discord.com/channels/1186424376300679209/1451755934886920344>)
- Bring your own Twilio number with SMS already enabled and connect it via SIP trunking
