@AI Evy when using agent swap to transfer from one conversation flow to another conversation flow, the destination flow reverts to the begin node after every user turn. The flow lands on the correct node after the swap, the agent responds, but as soon as the user replies, it transitions back to begin. No edge conditions are matched. This happens consistently on every user turn — the user has to re-engage each time to get back into the flow. Happens with and without tool calls on the node. Do you have any insight on how to prevent this?

### Answer This behavior you're describing—where the destination flow reverts to the begin node after every user turn—isn't explicitly documented as expected behavior for Agent Transfer. Based on the documentation, when using Agent Transfer, the destination agent should have access to the full conversation history, and transitions should follow the configured edge conditions. [(1) ]() Here are some things to check and try: Review your transition conditions: - Ensure your transition conditions on the destination flow's nodes are properly configured. Community reports indicate that transition rules like "user replies" can sometimes fail to trigger correctly. [(2) ]() - Instead of using "Skip Response" on nodes, try using an equation condition like
1=1
for transitions that should always occur—this has been reported to work more reliably. [(3) ]() Check your node configuration: - Verify that your conversation nodes have proper edge conditions defined for when the user responds. [(4) ]() - Make sure you're covering all possible cases in your transition conditions (user provides info, user declines, etc.) . [(5) ]() Verify the start_node_id: - Check that the
start_node_id
in your destination conversation flow is set correctly and that the flow isn't inadvertently configured to always begin at the start node. [(6) ]() If the issue persists, I recommend sharing your call ID with Retell support so they can investigate the specific behav
ior in your call logs. This appears to be similar to issues others have reported where conversation flows don't transition as expected. [(2) ]()
