@AI Evy I'm in my conversation flow agent and I cannot figure out why the tool is not getting accepted: Tool Invocation: extract_dynamic_variable_1765470016570 tool_call_id: a59dc850fb5bfedc Tool Result tool_call_id: a59dc850fb5bfedc {"status":"dynamic variable extracted","variables":{"klant_naam":"Enes Dere","requested_treatment":"haartransplantatie hoofdhaar"}} Could you help me out please?

Thanks for tagging me @enes (ekkovoice). I'll look through relevant sources and get back to you shortly.
### Answer Based on what you're describing, there have been similar reports of conversation flow agents having issues after tool calls where the agent stops responding or the tool result isn't properly processed. [(1) ]() A few things to check: 1. Verify the tool result format - Your response appears to be returning valid JSON with a status code between 200-299, which is correct. [(2) ]() 2. Check the Detail Logs - Look for errors like
"An assistant message with 'tool_calls' must be followed by tool messages responding to each 'tool_call_id'"
- this has been reported as a known issue causing agents to go silent after function calls. [(1) ]() 3. Test in Chat vs Voice - Try testing the same flow in chat mode. Users have reported that chat testing works correctly while voice calls exhibit this behavior. 4. Function result size - The function result is capped at 15000 characters to prevent overloading the LLM context window. [(2) ]() If you're seeing the tool result logged correctly but the agent still isn't proceeding, this appears to be a known intermittent issue that has been reported by other users. I'd recommend sharing your call ID with the Retell team for investigation. Could you provide your call ID so the issue can be looked into more specifically?

@AI Evy where can i find the call id? is it CF ID or agent ID

Thanks for the follow-up, @enes (ekkovoice). I'll get back to you soon.
### Answer The call ID is different from both the Conversation Flow ID and the Agent ID. It's a unique identifier for each individual call session. [(1) ]() The
call_id
is described as: "Unique id of the call. Used to identify the call in the LLM websocket and used to authenticate in the audio websocket." How to find it: - **Via API**: When you create a call (web or phone) , the response includes the
call_id
. You can also retrieve it using the Get Call endpoint.
Copy code
javascript
import Retell from 'retell-sdk';
const client = new Retell({
  apiKey: 'YOUR_RETELL_API_KEY',
}) ;
const callResponse = await client.call.retrieve('119c3f8e47135a29e65947eeb34cf12d') ;
console.log(callResponse) ;
- **Via Dashboard**: You can find call IDs in the Call History tab of your Retell dashboard, where each call is logged with its unique
call_id
. Example call ID format:
"Jabr9TXYYJHfvl6Syypi88rdAHYHmcq6"

### Answer Now that you have your call ID (
call_02e6f5ab3c75b1085027847e606
) , you can retrieve the detailed logs to investigate the tool call issue. [(1) ]() You can use the Get Call API to pull the full call details including transcripts and logs:
Copy code
javascript
import Retell from 'retell-sdk';
const client = new Retell({
  apiKey: 'YOUR_RETELL_API_KEY',
}) ;
const callResponse = await client.call.retrieve('call_02e6f5ab3c75b1085027847e606') ;
console.log(callResponse) ;
Next steps: 1. Check the Dashboard - Go to your Retell dashboard's Call History and look up this call ID to view the Detail Logs. Look for any error messages similar to what other users reported (e.g., tool_call_id response errors) . [(2) ]() 2. Share with Retell Support - Based on similar reports, this type of issue where tool results are logged correctly but the agent stops responding has been flagged as a known intermittent issue. For direct assistance with this specific call, you can: - Visit [Contact Sales]() - Visit [) [(3) ]() The Retell team can investigate the call logs on their end using your call ID to determine why the tool result isn't being processed correctly.
