### Answer Yes, this is a known issue when the agent defaults to its LLM training data cutoff date instead of the actual current date. To fix this, you need to explicitly provide the current date/time to your agent using Retell's built-in dynamic variables. [(1) ]() ## Solution Add one of these system variables to your agent's prompt: -
{{current_time}}
- Current time in
America/Los_Angeles
timezone -
{{current_time_[timezone]}}
- Current time in a specified timezone, for example:
{{current_time_Australia/Sydney}}
-
{{current_calendar_[timezone]}}
- 14-day calendar in specified timezone In your prompt, include something like:
Copy code
current time is {{current_time}}
## Common Pitfalls to Check 1. Test data variables - If you have test data with a
current_time
variable set to an old date, delete it. This was the root cause for one user who had outdated test data overriding the system variable. [(2) ]() 2. Publish your agent - Make sure your agent is published after making changes. [(3) ]() 3. Nested variables - If using a custom timezone variable, ensure the syntax is correct:
{{current_time_{{my_timezone}}}}
[(1) ]()
