@AI Evy is it possible to turn the new auto-save off? I think that as soon as changes are saved they become live. That means if it auto-saves mid change, it could break functionality.

Thanks for tagging me @Greg. I'll look through relevant sources and get back to you shortly.
### Answer I don't have documentation on whether the auto-save feature can be disabled or on specific settings to control it. However, there is a distinction between saving and publishing for Conversation Flow agents. Based on Discord discussions, when you're editing a published version, you need to "update the version" to save changes—suggesting that auto-saved drafts don't automatically go live until you explicitly publish. [(1) ]() The auto-save behavior has been raised as a concern by other users, and the Retell team has acknowledged it as something to improve. [(2) ]() For clarity on controlling when changes go live vs. when they're saved as drafts, I'd recommend reaching out directly: - Visit [Contact Sales]() - Check [Retell AI GitHub]() Would you like me to try to provide a general answer based on typical version control patterns?

Can you clarify - I am working on a multi prompt agent. I think that as soon as you save, it is live. Is that not the case?

### Answer For multi-prompt agents specifically, the available documentation does not explicitly detail whether saving immediately makes changes live or whether there's a separate publish/deployment step. However, the changelog does mention Version Control for Agents, which allows you to: [(1) ]() - Make changes and test your agent safely—without affecting your live production calls - Revert to any previous version with a single click - Hit the "Deployment" button to save a version, and use the history button to view and restore previous versions This suggests that with version control enabled, you can work on changes without them immediately going live—you would need to explicitly deploy a version for it to become active in production. If you're not using version control, the behavior may differ. I'd recommend checking the "Deployment" button in your Agent Builder to manage which version is live.
