This is a known friction point with the invitation flow. Here's what's happening and how to work around it:
The Issue:
When an invitee clicks the link, they need to
create a new account (either via Google SSO or email/password signup) — the invite link doesn't automatically create credentials for them. [(1) ](
)
Workarounds:
1.
Use "Sign in with Google" — The invitee should click "Sign in with Google" using the same email address the invite was sent to. This bypasses the password creation issue entirely and is the recommended approach for better security. [(2) ](

2.
Create account first, then accept — Have the invitee:
- Go to the Retell login page
- Click "Sign up" to create a new account with the invited email address
- Set their password during signup
- Then click the invite link again [(1) ](
)
3.
Resend the invite — If the invite shows as "Pending," you can resend it by clicking "Invite Members" again, re-entering their email, and clicking "Send".
Additional checks:
- Ensure there are no outstanding invoices on your account, as this can block workspace access for invited members. [(3) ](
