I’m using a Retell Conversation Flow agent. At the start of each call I have a function node “Ellie Caller Context Enrich” that calls a custom function ELLIE_CALLER_CONTEXT_ENRICH. The tool returns a JSON object ellie_context plus history, and in the function config I map a Response Variable called ellie_context → ellie_context. Later in the flow, another function node “SUBMIT_ORDER_TO_ELLIE” is called after ORDER_SUMMARY. Its parameter schema includes an ellie_context field of type "object". In my global prompt, I explicitly instruct the LLM to set the ellie_context argument to the previously returned ellie_context object (and never send {}). However, in the live call logs the payload for SUBMIT_ORDER_TO_ELLIE always has ellie_context: {} (empty object) even though the enrichment function’s tool result shows a fully populated ellie_context object. I’m trying to understand whether Conversation Flow currently supports re-using a previous function node’s full JSON result as a later function’s argument, and if so, how I should wire or reference that variable correctly.
