What a coincidence! I just had the same thought yesterday night while going through the requirements of various companies who are actively hiring and I had this question in mind - “What if the framework/tech I am comfortable with doesn’t remain as trendy/hot as it is today, but still useful if applied?” which lead to another question - “Would it then be better to start something on your own using what you know or learn the new trending tech?”
Well, Paul Graham’s case is different in the sense that he knew a language which was yet to become trendy which in today’s times would be analogous to say, mastering webassembly?

Yeah. True. Paul Graham's case doesn't apply to everyone - but was reflecting on the thought (and also on the original tweet he was replying to). Thanks for sharing your thoughts Apoorv

Yes, it’s hard to see myself working for someone else for the next 5 years. The itch to start a company keeps getting stronger.
