ListenLater.in πŸ”Š
Hey tribe! I have been working on this side project for a bit and I think it is in a place that I can open it up to a few more folks. So announcing it here. When you sign up, use the code:
REMOTEINDIAN
to get $10 worth of credits added to your account and get the account activated instantly. (Else, I need to manually activate it). Stuff is still in alpha-ish mode right now though everything should work as expected. What is it? ListenLater as the name suggests, allows you create your own private, podcast show for long-ish articles that you don’t have time to read. Simply put in the URL of the article (or copy-paste the text) and a new podcast episode appears in your Podcast app with rich, neural voices. I wrote this for myself to catch up on reading stuff while on my walks, etc. Neural voices cost money πŸ™ƒ - so I am going to leave the RI code active till Monday EOD or until enough folks sign up to exhaust my free tier. Would love to hear feedback from folks - especially if things are not working for you 😊 Let me know. Thanks.

@loud-glass-33663 can you please share steps to add podcast in prime music or Spotify.
l
Hey @damp-memory-53739 I know that Spotify does not allow you to add private podcasts via URL. Looked at Amazon Music right now and seems like that does not support private podcasts too. We have so far tried: Apple Podcasts, Overcast, Google Podcasts (all free, Overcast is ad-supported) to work well with Listenlater. Someone got it working on Pocket Cast as well though the process is slightly convoluted.
d
Ok, let me try on google podcast.. Also, it would help your users if you share the steps on emails and mention the supported platforms..

@loud-glass-33663 tested the app, it was good. Feedback: looks like anyone can add article to other's account if they know the email id ;) You may want to restrict that

Yep. Thanks for testing. Like I said, very alpha stage. I will build the website around the technology eventually - but wanted to get this basic thing out and see whether it fits the bill (with regards to the quality and whether people think its a good idea to use)

Yep, looks like a good usecase
Maybe u can create a telegram bot too :)
l
As in, post the URL to the Telegram bot?
q
Yep. Exactly. Post the URL to the telegram bot, then refresh the podcast app
I usually save articles as a single person group chat inside telegram. Maybe i can use your bot. Which serves an additional purpose :)
l
Noted. Thanks. I’ve added that to my requested features document 😊
