Hey #tribe,I am new to this platform and it was introduced to me by my sister  Sheeba. The responses I found to some of the queries by fellow tribeswo(men) encouraged me to post my story in the making.
A quick introduction about me
I took voluntary retirement after 25 years in the Army - while at Army, had been more of a techno manager and a people person at the operator end of technology. The closest I have been to development was during my MTech (sponsored by the Army), while developing  a Neural Network based Network Intrusion Detection system with C++, that’s 15 years back. Since my voluntary retirement 2 years back, I am with a MNC, as a  technology business services professional demanding basic SQL knowledge.
My Ask
I have been reading up on Blockchain and targeting Hyper Ledger Fabric; at some point, I was contemplating pursuing CHFA and/or CHFD certification . I am keen to pursue and seek mentors to guide. I understand I need to up-skill on Node.JS and may be more , I also understand I am 49 and may be not at the right age to take the plunge but I want to come to that conclusion after I have tried or with a realistic assessment based on inputs from the  #tribe  Seek guidance to take  my story further!

Hey @miniature-twilight-2730 welcome to the blockchain world. Age doesn’t matter in the tech and if you’ve heard of Mr. Srinivas Mahankali, you’ll understand why I say so. Fabric is a vast platform, yet modular and from the very known Linux Foundation. It has a basket of tech to master. The learning does not end with Node JS. You’ll also need docker and other tech stack. May I know the reason behind choosing fabric? Is it because there is enterprise adoption?

Thanks for your response @ripe-nightfall-45140. As for the choice of Fabric, there is no valid reason except that my search with limited exposure lead me to this path. I just looked up for Srinivas - inspiring! I am open and eager to learn.

There are many platforms available now. You’re not just restricted to fabric, but decentralised finance (defi) and nft are taking up more traction now. If your focus is on enterprises, you can very well move ahead with fabric or corda. But for a more wide exposure, you might have to look up to ethereum, cardano, chain link etc. with the recent London fork and upcoming milestones, ethereum is expected to surpass bitcoin in adoption with its smart contract implementation.

I get your call out in choice of platform. As for the next steps, given my background - do I first grasp the technology and get hands on with Node. js , dockers etc. (or any other suggestion) and then work on the platform. I suppose moving into any of the platforms would need some pre-requisites. thanks for your patience!
