Can someone please suggest me economical webcam with durability my inbuilt webcam broke and technician was not confident opening the laptop saying its 2 in 1 and may broke the touch if tried opening. So he suggested use a external webcam as everything is perfectly fine

@orange-action-12733 I just bought this Lenovo 300 webcam a month ago and have been quite impressed with it and felt it was great value for money.

I use this and my only problem with this is that it has an ultra wide lens.

Same here. I bought the Lenovo one and the ultrawide cam was a problem for me. I ended up buying a logitech webcam Logitech C270 HD Webcam https://www.amazon.in/dp/B008QS9J6Y/

Curious. Why was the ultra wide thing a problem?

Have seen good reviews for this and was considering this since it can be used with their TV too - http://m.store.mi.com/in/item/3212500004 Anyone has the Mi webcam?

Can this webcams be used for course recordings or we need more quality ones

Ah the techwiser video talks about it, doesn't look good on direct comparison
I have use case though- daughter's video call with parents and maybe even online school. Having it from hall tv makes it lot more convenient than having a dedicated laptop for her.
Anyone using their dslr as a webcam?
s
I think to use DSLR as webcam you need Capture Card, Am I right here ?
m
it depends on the DSLR. Some can be used directly.

For conference talks, I usually use my DSLR as webcam. I've a pretty simple setup, connect to camera via USB, and then interface with a combo of v4l2, gphoto2/OBS. As mentioned, not all DLSR work well sometimes not even with capture cards. e.g. I use gphoto2, so that could be a limitation where your camera is not completely supported by the libgphoto2. Though, if you have newer known camera model, it should be working out of the box.

Is anyone using logitech c170 i see thats being sold for 299 rs on reliance digital as freedom sale.

Most phone cameras are of good quality these days. This started out as an experiment and it's been working great so far. I have a spare android phone and I use Droidcam to use the camera from my phone as webcam. I bought the paid version for 400 Rs which even gives me access to 1080p video output. It has worked well for me with online group workouts with Zoom and other apps.

Should we use that with tripod or any clip to work as webcam for laptop

I use this Phone Holder and generally mount it to table top or window when using with TV. You can extend and mount it wherever convenient.
