Anyone here owns ReMarkable 2 tablet? Any reviews?

A few of my colleagues own it and vouch for it, I’d buy it if I could but it isn’t available in India, and I don’t plan to give our customs officers any free money (apart from legit import duty) by importing it.

40% import duty mate. I still haven't forgiven the customs dept for charging 40% import duty on a goddamn blender 😬

Recently when GitLab was doing IPO, all of the team members (include those of us in India) received a swag package, the value of contents were declared in USD to be around $180. Some of us paid 7k in duties, some paid 9k and some paid 13 to 14k. All these variations for exact same box containing exact same stuff. 🤷 I’ve paid 3.5k in import duty for Yubikey costing Rs. 1800 back in 2017. So I just stay away from importing anything except for stickers.

My team won the Hackathon couple of weeks back. I am asking for ReMarkable2 instead. Do you think there’s a way to skip the customs duty as Remarkable 2 isn’t available in India?

Only if someone is coming from US/EU to India and carry it with them.

I remember paying nothing when they delivered Mac Pro to me when I joined the company. Is there a chance maybe because they paid for it upfront?

Two possibilities of that happening; • They shipped mac pro from within India via some procuring partner (most employers do that). • They paid the duty on your behalf, although it is unlikely as when a package is coming your way, you’re the importer here and you’re required to do KYC with shipping company and same information is forwarded to customs dept. of India so even if they paid it to you, you’d at least know what happened. Unless they first delivered it to some other location in India (and cleared import duties) and then shipped domestically to you.

I haven't even managed to get my hands on a PS5. Gave up and got the Switch OLED 😂

I just checked it, they look terrible, too bad Sony arm-twisted Dbrand to do this.
