Hello everyone, I was thinking about how to measure my productivity as a software developer and hence had a few questions related to this. How is your 40-hour work week split across different tasks like meetings, communication, development, etc? Since ancillary tasks also take significant amount of time, what does a productive week look like for you? Crude metrics like lines of code / commits do not convey much. Hence, I was curious if you guys track your productivity and if yes, what metrics do you track?

I use rescuetime running at the back to give me a weekly breakup of where I spent my time. It depends on your profile, how many meetings you need to be in, etc. I don't really adjust stuff unless things are really out of whack -- but it is good to know generally how much time you spent doing what.
