How much time does it usually take for a Passport to arrive after the police verification? I haven't received it yet, and the verification happened at least two months ago. What are the possible steps I can take?

It only takes a few days. You should check with your local post office if they tried to deliver it, if not talk to PSK.

It shouldn't take more than a two weeks after police verification.

It takes a few days at max. Did you get a text message that your PV was successful? If not, go to the police station with your application number and other ID to check status. You get the following text messages: • Police Verification completed • Passport sent for printing • Passport dispatched. If you didn't get the 2nd or 3rd SMS, you can go to the PSK and check with them. I think you can also check the status online.

Police Verification Report for passport application is under review at the Regional Passport Office. Passport will be dispatched after Police Verification Report is found clear, subject to granting. The applicant would receive an sms/e-mail once the passport is dispatched.

Should I log an appeal? When I click "Log Appeal", there's a note that says

Note: Appeal can only be logged for suspended, revoked, impounded, rejected and refused files

none of which matches my problem. 😅

@sticky-sandwich-47614 You need to go to the Police Dept where you did your verification and see what is up. They are mostly either sitting on your file (you may need to pay them) -- or they have lost your file.

Yeah, it is probably that. When I went for verification, the policeman asked me if I want a 'ticket'? I had absolutely no idea what he meant, and I politely declined. I think now I know what he meant. 😅

It happened with me actually. The reason this happens is police mis enter the verification things in their system, some weird thing. I had to raise a complaint then they called for an interview in the main office. (Previously I applied in a regional office) then they said we are sorry it was their mistake and send the passport in like 3-4 days

similar situation has happened with my mother's passport, after verification at police station(Sakinaka, Mumbai), no updates received for almost 2 months, then I logged a grievance on the portal and also enquired about the file on twitter. within a week I received an sms about negative report. they have given a negative report citing proof of citizenship is not available. now I have to schedule a visit to RPO(Mumbai) which is not operational due to covid 😬

Mine was regional - Karimnagar (It was very new when I applied here) Solved at Hyderabad

some corrupted cops do this if we dont bribe them during verification may be you can visit nearest regional passport office and speak to them if that helps.
