Has anyone opened a (USD) bank account while visiting the US (as a resident Indian on tourist visa)? • Which bank did you open it with? • What all documents were you asked for? • Did you have to approach any other institution for getting prerequisite docs/forms? • Did you need help from any US resident? • How long did it all take? • Have you been able to use it like the way you wished back in India?

I opened mine 12 years ago, still functional lol. Just needed passport. Opened with Bank of America.

Just walked in. No prior appointment. It was ready immediately. One point to note is that the debit card expiry might be a pain, but you can change the delivery address later. At some point it(delivery addresses) got locked for me and I wasn't able to get a new card shipped to a different address unless I walked into branch and update address at the branch . Ask for digital account if that's feasible. You could also create a US account PayPal and link to the bank account
