Is LonelyPlanet books are still a thing? If not, what you guys are using to find/explore the travel stuff?

It is still a thing. I pick up old books (used or digital) as most historical, cultural aspects of a place remain the same. Some of the place recommendations might not be accurate but you have google for that. Few ways I use it: • To plan itinerary of my long trip • To discover off beat places • I used to travel without internet connectivity between 2014-2018. I used to use their hostel/hotel, restaurant recommendations for many smaller places as I backpacked • If I have a base around a major city for a long duration, these books give lots of smaller places you could explore over a day or two every weekend • It also comes with many book recommendations that you could checkout if you are slow traveling Other things: • Few popular blogs that come up in search • Youtube videos • Forums with longish threads (typically many years old)
