#Health Hi, I don't know what's happening with me. I always feel lethargic, went for a health checkup and reports revealed that I have deficiency of Vit D and insufficient Vit B12. Its been 2 months now since I started my supplements, still I feel lethargic. I went to another doc with my reports to discuss about this and he suggested that I go for a checkup again and see if my vitamin levels are in check now, if they still aren't I might have to get vitamin injections. I asked him what if they are within acceptable levels now? His reposnse was that I might have something else then which is causing this lethargy. I rarely go out and bask in the sun but in evening. I go for walk between 6-7PM but I doubt if sunlight that time is effective. Anyone experienced this?

Yes. I went through this and take periodic boosters. If you are taking oral supplements for b12 it has terrible bio availability. Most indians have little to no b12 reserves, so it takes a while to get saturated. Pills can maintain reserves but won't build up effectively. Much better to get a course of injections. Alternate days, im, 4 doses minimum. B12 is water soluble so safe to take, no blood test needed. Stop when pee turns greenish. That means your reserves are full and it's just passing out. Sunlight is important for the mood but 6-7 is probably still fine. Are you taking vit D supplements? Weekly once uprise d3 capsules are effective. Uprise d3 solution has bad bio availability, solis d3 solution is good though. Pairing this up with light exercise or good daily routine helps a lot.
I saw good response within 2 weeks. If it's been months on supplements then either they are not enough or the issue is probably something else.

@tall-postman-9284 Sunlight is important for mood, really? For Vit D, I don't have capsules. Previous doc prescribed sachets (60K IU per sachet)

@wide-toddler-69594 sachets are indeed the best. I take Vid3 sachets

Dude please take sunlight, 30 mins working in balcony will help in day time

@wide-toddler-69594 yep. Very important. Read about SAD. Seasonal affective disorder. People living in areas without sunlight get lethargic and depressed in winters. Cure is to spend time in an area of a lot of light. Literally the cure is tons of light bulbs. And if by satchet you mean packet with granules, it has good bio availability as well. Might vary by manufacturer though.
And all options I listed above are 60k IU per dose as well btw. That's the most commonly recommended dose.

I had the same experience as you. My vit D3 was even worse than Deficiency, it was in the Severe Deficiency column. And B12 was deficiency column. I started taking healthkart's D (2K IU daily) and B supplements and like magic I started feeling better and sleep cycle also got fixed. It felt find of magical. It took ~1-2 weeks, so if you are not seeing results then it may not be vit thing.
