I am aspiring to do a Master's programme in Europe in Computer Science. I am open to any speciality. I just wish to experience a student life in Europe and spend some time in Europe's culture as I study. Does anybody have any words of advice or tips?

1. A few countries like Germany do not have tuition fees for Indians in their Public Universities. Apply only to those universities 2. Look for programs like Erasmus Mundus. If you get through, you get scholarship to cover your cost of living 3. Get a good IELTES / TOEFL score 4. Learn the local language, atleast take the first level exam before reaching EU. Makes life a lot easier 5. It may get lonely. Many western EU countries are used to it. Make up your mind before you get here. Helps a lot 6. Be ready to walk, a lot. An european walks 5-10 km easily per day (excluding public transport distance) 7. Fund your next year/s via part time jobs, summer jobs etc. 8. A master will take >2 years. Plan for extra 6-12 months on top of the course duration

Dublin has 1 year masters programs too, so you might wanna check it out. Not Privy with details but a few friends have chosen that just bcoz of the shorter duration.

Regarding 1 year programmes in Europe, I have heard you won't be able to work part-time while doing them, because of workload. So if you go for it only if you can manage expenses.

From what I have read/heard • Tuition fees in Norway and Finland public universities are Zero. • UK and Ireland offer 1-year courses. • During winter the weather is extreme.

Following up on my earlier question on Masters in Europe, could you please help me connecting with people who have studied or are currently studying Masters in Europe in the field of Computer Science? I would really appreciate having mentors and guides who could help me through the entire process of choosing universities and the right kind of course.
