Has anyone faced this issue of name mismatch in pan database? As per pan database which I verified on Income tax portal, my name structure is
<first name> <middle name> <last name>
and on my pan card it is
<last name> <first name> <middle name>
When I requested reprint of pan and download e-Pan thinking that it will reflect what is there in pan database, I again received the name as per old pan card only 🤦‍♂️ plus again wasting 50 Rs for re-print request.

Most of people I knew, who have been through Gujarat Board, has same problem. They still have a habit of writing of surname first in full name. Half of my family members are in same situation.

The problem is that there is no consistent format in gov applications. In aadhar also there is no standard format

I write my name in one format, irrespective of how they ask, name + father name + surname in all government documents/legal purposes except my board and degree marksheets as that was out of my control. That have saved me so far from this misery.

One more problem is habit of appending
kumar
bhai
lal
to name. If it is done via agent some of them add this themselves 😄
https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/ website has separate fields of first name, last name, middle name. That is not the case with all gov website/forms

Only my next generation would get rid off, my name is, Parthkumar Manubhai Patel. And some companies take this entire name and show in slack/Skype. It's embarrassing.

My name is Sidharth Vinod, my Aadhaar had Sidharth V, PAN had Vinod Sidharth and Passport just has Sidharth. Had to get both corrected. It was a complete hassle when starting out. Takes some time, but didn't have to physically go to any office. Yet to handle passport.

Same is the case with me, will need to get corrected all 3 of them

Except Aadhar, everywhere order is Last Name First Name Middle Name
Aadhar name is read left to right, First Name Middle Name Last Name
so correct your name in Aadhar & leave the rest as it is

@wide-twilight-82330 Correct, my physical pan card and passport has <last name> <first name> <middle name> but online pan database (which is used for verification by gov sites) has the name as <first name> <middle name> <last name>. Now, I am not sure why pan database and pan card has different format. And if I will use the copy of my pan card (<ln> <fn> <mn>) to update Adhar details as per online pan database (<fn> <mn> <ln>) whether it will work or not 😅 cz online sites goes and validates the detail with the online pan database and the pan card I have has different format 😛

@orange-mouse-66795 yeah it works fine. I had the exact same issue as you. Updated it in aadhar using pan data.

Cool 👍
It worked 😅
