I think it's a good idea to take a step back, list all other possible job roles and then start talking to specific people in other companies about joining new roles. See if what they sell about the role is interesting to you.
If you want more startup leadership but non engineering roles then you can try co-founder dating or joining networks for founders like OnDeck. When you meet others who are either looking for co-founders or the first few team members you can talk to them and see if the challenges are interesting enough.
