I'm planning a trip to Spain with a few friends. I have about 8 or 9 days there. Trying to figure out which cities to visit. Landing in Madrid. Can anyone help?

Depends on what you want to do... If you're interested in design and architecture, Madrid, Seville, Valencia and Barcelona are nice. There is also Alahambra. If you want to party, Ibiza or the Grand Canary islands are a no brainer. There is also Malaga, Marbella on the southern coast. Most of the east coast also has great beaches - Benidorm, Altea, Alicante, Valencia, Costa Brava.

Not into partying. Going to Spain via Mexico so we'd be sick of beaches by then. How many nights would you recommend in Madrid, Seville, Barcelona?

I'd say Madrid and Barcelona need at least 3 days each and Seville could be managed in 2. Mind you, I've spent weeks there, multiple times. So I'm suggesting bare minimum to see what package tours show you.

Tangential - but be vary careful about Barcelona. Seriously, the worst pick pocketing city I have visited. Almost lost my wallet and passport and was attempted two times.
