Those who are abroad and maintaining Indian number for OTP etc, what's the best practices here? (Airtel sim)

My mom sends me OTP on WhatsApp. Works very well for me since many years 🤣

For Airtel, keep recharging the "monthly maintenance" plan.

I recharge the annual plan, so mom doesn't have to remember that. One less problem for her. My bank related number always stays in India with my mom when I'm outside India. Even now it's with my mom.

There are apps which can sync notifications across devices so you can just leave your phone back in India and ensure that it is always charged and connected to internet.

If you are travelling for shorter duration, just recharge with a Rs 700 plan (international roaming), you'll get 100 min of calls in+out for a month.

i think you don't need any additional plan to recieve SMS
