Hey Everyone, Is anyone aware of vaccine certificates for infants? Something similar to what we have for Covid -19 vaccines Context - I see that kids need to be given quite a lot of vaccines in their early age. But there is no way to prove/authenticate that they have actually taken the vaccine. What if someone needs a proof of vaccine after few years (My friend needed it when they applied for US Green card). If we are getting vaccinated from Private hospitals, I can ask for some document, but what if I choose to provide vaccines at Government centres?

Nope. They usually give you a booklet which you need to maintain. If you have the birth happen in a private hospital, they usually give it then. But the booklet is immaterial. You can use some other card as well available from the vaccine center. Unfortunately, there is nothing digital. We recently lost both our children's vaccination records while shifting stuff 🙄 and had to trace back to bills, etc. to figure out where we were. Luckily, we have been going to Apollo clinic here in Pune and they were kind enough to sift through all their bills and print out duplicates for us. So very much need of the hour! Whenever your child is vaccinated, they have a sticker which comes with the vaccine containing info like manufacture date, etc. which they stick to the booklet. I am assuming this would be the same in Govt centers as well?

Also: learnt something recently that when in doubt, it is better to get re-vaccinated with stuff. It does not cause harm if sufficient time has passed.

@mysterious-yak-23452 Agree to Saurabh’s comment above • there is no standard vaccination certificate. It depends on which paediatrician you go to. My kids both have booklet in which doc add the date and sticks the label of the vaccine • When we applied for green card - we submitted this vaccine booklet for the kids and for us we could got a doc to sign that vaccine where give on which dates (fake dates - as we didn’t remember the dates at that time) • so the most practical approach is ask for a booklet or get one created. Then ask the doc fill it up as you give vaccinations.

Thank you @loud-glass-33663 and @polite-secretary-64403 for your input. Private clinic have a section in their file where they just mentioned what this vaccine is for and the date. They did not attach any sticker along with it detailing the manufacturer, batch etc. Similarly for government, they have a small booklet where they record the date and give it to us. But it does not have any stamp or authorised signature, so anyone could print and write dates in it. The only reason I am thinking of going to private clinic for vaccinations is for the scenario where in future if I need a certificate, I can at least talk to them and get the records. I do not expect any help from Government centres as they do not keep any records.

I heard that some private schools/kindergartens/daycares also require the records of vaccinations before giving you an admission.
