I have finished some books and still have a long reading list. I will share my reviews over time but if I have to recommend 1 book to get me started here. One of my favourites is https://www.amazon.in/Thinking-Bets-Making-Smarter-Decisions/dp/0735216355/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=thinking+in+bets&qid=1557229945&s=gateway&sr=8-3 One of the key takeaways is : Life is not like chess where you think doing x will get you y results. Life is more like poker where you only know the cards in your hands and not what your opponent holds. So it doesn't matter if you or your opponent has better cards, what matters is how you play them. Adapting this analogy in life, you can only control what you do and make better decisions by moving away from absolutes and instead adop probabilistic thinking. this also helps set the right expectaions and feel dissapointed less often.

@mysterious-businessperson-89847 epic stuff, the whole thing sounds quite like Stoic philosophy also, that I follow heavily in the objective sense atleast. And love the poker analogy of course. Thanks for sharing! will definitely check the book

hey @swift-pilot-25722 Even I am trying to get into stoic philosophy but get distracted. While I didn't find this book to be anywhere philosophical but glad to know it's on the stoic track. I initially didn't buy this book after reading someone's bad review but when I head this author on Farnam street's TKP immediately I went and bought this book. https://fs.blog/annie-duke/ (I think it's relevant for the overall group, so posting back in the channel) Feedback on books are someone's subjective opinion and we might waste our time or miss out on a great learning source by reading someone's opinion. So now when I find a book which I have mixed feelings about, I try to search for other free sources to hear the author and understand his depth of knowledge in the filed and thought process. That helps me decide whether to go for a book or not instead of the comments
