I’ve recently been going around asking people what book / resource / person has completely changed their lives. I also tweeted about it. In the process I discovered a book called How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big by the creator of Dilbert. The audiobook version of it on Libby is incredible. It goes over: • The concept of optimising one's life around "personal energy" (as opposed to say, money) • Why following one's "passion" is not always a great recipe • Goals vs systems — and optimisers vs simplifiers • ... and much more! Recommended!

Just finished the audiobook last month, it was pretty good. I was familiar with some of the things (e.g. goals vs systems), but the book really convinced me on the personal energy concept. I've started to use it to decide what I want to do and what I don't.

This book and "So good they can't ignore you" by Carl Newport is my favourite self improvement/career books.
