By the way, on that same note -- there is one more reason I push for fixed salary bands: taking negotiation out of salary discussions. IMO, salaries should not be negotiable.

+1 And you shouldn’t need to apply to know the salary for any given position. There are only a handful of companies that disclose the salaries on job postings itself.

+1 fixed salary bands makes a lot of sense. Also, it solves gender pay gap + removes most of the uncertainties.

Not just gender, all other pay gaps. Gender is just the more visible one.
