I recently bought a used iPhone SE 1st generation via Olx. I checked everything before buying except mobile network connectivity.  Now when I insert my Airtel SIM, the phone detects the SIM but is unable to connect to the network. Shows "no service" in the top bar. Anyone faced similar issues and can help? I have already tried a bunch of things and waiting to contact Apple support and Airtel customer care today. But feeling restless, so I thought someone here might be able to help.

Hey Shreshth, these things are often not straightforward to solve. But here is what I would try: 1. Trying a different sim from another provider 2. Resetting the iPhone network settings 3. Factory reset the entire phone 4. Upgrading to the latest version you can? I am sorry if this sounds like a canned customer care response but it takes care of checking for hardware issue (different SIM) and software configuration which you are resetting the phone to. A couple of other questions: 1. Is the phone Indian or imported? I once purchased an imported 2nd hand iphone 5 from the US which had horrendous network connectivity issues. 2. Is your nano SIM factory issued or cut? Sometimes older Sims which are cut tend to not fit correctly.

Thanks for your response! My SIM is the old kind and probably doesn't support some bands. Got it working with both my neighbours SIM cards.
