Hi guys, just wanted to know how much salary increment is given to employee's working in India during appraisal just wanted to get rough idea and market trends

Heavily dependent on the company performance and culture, current salary and experience level etx. I have seen hikes as low as 2% to as high as 50%.

Companies called “A” would give 7% hike and your colleagues would ask for an appraisal party. Companies called “B” would give 27% instead of 34% and employee would start hunting for a better prospect. Difference is that company A would hire in herds without any quality check where the same candidate wouldn’t even clear first technical interview of company B. So your hike really depends on which category your company belongs to. 🙂

I have seen companies not giving much hike I see companies always tell you need to be innovative and need to think out of the box then only appraisal salary hike given. This is same reason given by most of the companies

@echoing-computer-87366 No but I’ve seen closed group of friends within the company often discuss the range of upraisal and not exact figure but yes, those company of category A (you know which I’m referring to) when give upraisal between 5 to 10%, it is considered massive.

I have seen Indian companies giving >10% per year and US companies <10% as standard (starting values). Ideally you should be getting higher hike that yearly inflation, if not, your salary actually went down. i.e in India, you should get more than 7-8%.
