Hmm.. Well, there would never be a 1 size fits all for routers. It depends on many factors - including where the internet line terminates at your house. At my previous place (~1200 sq feet), the line came in in the middle of the house - so 1 router was sufficient. This house (~1700 sq feet), the line terminates at one end - and we have dead spots at the other. We now have a mesh router which is working quite well for about a year now. I have the TP Link Deco M4 which supports speeds upto 1 Gbps (over 5 Ghz) and if you don’t see yourself getting more than a 100 Mbps internet line, they have a Deco E4 which is a more reasonably priced option. My parents are using the E4 - they are in a bungalow over 2 floors and it gives great coverage with good speeds. The TP Link 4G Router can also be a good option - I have that as a backup using my Airtel 4G card. It works well and maybe a good investment if you need a 4G backup (works as a normal router otherwise), but the range is not as great as a mesh router. But yeah, in my experience, most routers that can handle work loads (you taking video calls while others are streaming Netflix, etc) will be above a Rs. 4K range. I have used cheaper routers in the past and while they may work great at the beginning, they quickly lose range and is very frustrating. So if you are working from home, a good router is a good investment.

@loud-glass-33663 thank you for giving such an insight. I will definetly keep those in mind in selecting my next router
