Hey guys, is there a reliable COVID insurance that we can consider?

This seems to be a company's insurance policies. I'd like to know if as an individual there is a reliable insurer who covers COVID.

You can have a look at HDFC Ergo. Having said that, please note that these days, most medicines, hospitalization charges are all insanely inflated, to the point where no insurer will cover it beyond maximum permitted price no matter how big your coverage is.

As far as I understand, all insurance companies cover COVID related hospitalisation. I have ICICI Lombard and they cover it. https://www.icicibank.com/blogs/health-insurance/does-your-health-insurance-policy-cover-coronavirus.page

A friend explained to me that regular insurance policies will not cover treatments at home. However a covid-only policy will (apparently). PS: I don't know how true this statement is. Just passing on what I heard.

@eager-plastic-76453 Sorry, My bad.

If our policy covers OPD expenses, we can get home COVID care reimbursed, right? Did anyone find anything contradictory to the notion?

@flat-morning-91037 fair enough. But something better than nothing, I guess

@gorgeous-tent-29765 I’ll be doing that exercise in coming week as I had my Dad treated for COVID at home by consulting doctor in OPD. So I’ll keep this thread posted on whether the charges got reimbursed or not. 🙂

Home charges will only be reimbursed if patient didn’t got the bed and/or treated at home in similar manner like hospital.

@flat-morning-91037 Thank you and hope you're dad's feeling better.
