Hey guys, i have been working as a Full stack developer (Backend heavy) since past three years. Mostly with product based startups. But never got a chance to work with systems handling huge traffic. I want to get an experience of how is it like working on such systems. Is there any difference? Any suggestions on to get a hands on experience on highly distributed systems?

I am kind of facing the same problem. it's all about what we want to achieve at the end. the experience is to get the next job, we can start with OSS contribution, build a POC and blog about it(especially on highly scalable distributed system). there are cohort based learning courses as well for system design.

Look at code triage. Or choose a open source service you like the most and head to its issues section
