I have been facing a very peculiar issue since the last couple of days, my laptop is unable to connect with the 5 GHz band. It shows in the list of networks only when I switch it off and then switch it back on. Once I switch it back on, it shows for a brief period but then isn't in the list of networks. It works perfectly fine when I try from other laptops or my phone. I have tried rolling back the driver, It didn't work. Anyone has faced this issue before? OS and Laptop: Windows and Lenovo Ideapad.

which laptop & os?

Oh sorry, forgot to mention: Windows and Lenovo Ideapad.

I had same issue for a Dell latitude, Windows 10. After few hit and trial got to know, there was a BIOS update which was failing. Also, reinstalled wi-fi drivers. Then, it started working properly.

hmm I don't use wifi on my pc, but may be you could dig around event viewer when trying to connect to wifi. I'm pretty sure there will be some log messages which may give some idea about what's wrong.

I would try updating or rolling back the drivers for the wifi adaptor. You can do that by finding your adapter in Device Manager
To be sure that it's not a hardware issue

Tried it, did not resolve the issue 😞 Checking with Lenovo support to see if its a hardware issue. Found quite a few people encounter the same issue on various forums.

A soft reset always has positives

Just an update: I believe the issue was the channel from the service provider. I got them to change the channel to a different one and it seems to be working fine for now.
