Has anyone purchased hearing aid for their elders? I'm looking to purchase one for my grandma and therefore looking for suggestions from folks here. Doctors mention quite expensive ones with no way of knowing their reliability. Thanks for the help

I bought one some time back for a relative. I think the good ones are custom made by measuring the ear. Don't remember the numbers but will find the bills and can share more details.

Hey @rhythmic-monitor-96972, although not elder but one of my family member has been using these since decades and I have been personally involved in maintenance, upgrades etc. I would suggest you to go with simplicity and stay away from the ones which comes with lot of modern features such as bluetooth etc. Talking about brands you can check Siemens, It has been most reliable brand for me. Regarding the style/fit such as BTE/ITE/ITC etc, your consultant would be the best person to suggest you based on the % of hearing loss.

@quaint-farmer-12353 From where can I purchase hearing aid?
q
@rhythmic-monitor-96972 I can tell you about few places in Mumbai. Where are you located ?

Not in Mumbai. Any online stores?

Sorry, have no experience with online store. also wouldn't recommend any online store as you have to understand the hearing loss pattern by getting an audiogram test and then getting the hearing aid best suited for that pattern. It also involves fine tuning the settings which can be done by offline stores/clinics to best suite the need of the person wearing hearing aid
