So I’ve been using 2021 MacBook Pro for over 2 weeks now and it is by far the best mac experience I’ve ever had. I can’t think of a better laptop that one can get besides this one. You probably don’t need the highest end config and can get away with 14" MBP with M1 Pro and 16 GB RAM (cheapest SKU of the bunch) and still be amazed at how good it is. 🙂

Same experience! That screen though at 120fps 😍

I think some major apps are yet to take advantage of high FPS, but yeah, hard to go back to 60hz once you use 120 (or even 90 for that matter).

There's one issue I've faced though & apparently a lot of other people with the M1 is of the mission control crashing sometimes. Wonder if you or anyone else has run into this: https://www.reddit.com/r/macbookpro/comments/lm7lc4/mission_control_stops_working_on_external_monitor/

I didn’t notice anything with mission control so far, I have it set to top-left hot corner where just moving cursor there reveals mission control.

But yeah, upcoming macOS update is aimed at fixing a lot of 2021 mac issues https://www.macrumors.com/2021/12/08/macos-12-1-fixes-notch-obscuring-menu-bar-icons/

I sure hope that one is fixed! Good on apple for launching quickly but damn these things have bugs.

Did you restore your new mac from older one’s iCloud/offline backup? As most issues are affecting those who transferred over, while I did a fresh setup and haven’t noticed any of those reported problems.
p
Nope I had heard about the issues of importing from an old mac so I did not do that. So fresh start it was. I think the issues happen usually with external hardware. Like I've seen my apple magic mouse stutter in screen sometimes. Or chrome crashing sometimes when playing media (the m1 build). And whatever issue I've faced I've seen people complaining about it on reddit so I know for sure there are other people with this.
But then again, I still love it for the better performance & no heating 😍

What's the cheapest one from this lot?
f
@hundreds-winter-88791 Cheapest comparatively, of course if you compare to Windows counterparts then they’re still way too expensive, but there’s no Windows laptop that can come even remotely close to performance per watt that these macs offer.

Yeah, not comparing it with Windows. Comparing it with my Macbook Air (2017), which I bought for 58k, with 14k cashback from Paytm. :D

I have been using the same for a week now. I totally agree with you, best laptop experience, ever.
