I am looking for a 5 day vacation in 1st week of June. I have 2 kids(11 and 3) and 2 elders(61,57). What will be good places to visit? I am based out in Mumbai
Sorry for posting question with incomplete details here are the places we have short listed • Kashmir • Meghalaya • Coorg • Rishikesh

What is your current base? Would help others provide relevant advice. 5 days sounds too short for Kashmir and Meghalaya (unless you are in Guwahati/Kolkata) as its far and have lots of places to explore IMO. FYI, haven’t been to either of them. If you are in Bangalore are driving then Coorg can be a great trip. You could book a really nice airbnb in a coffee estate and relax there with family and enjoy local food. It is a good relaxed 3 day trip usually. You could combine it with a safari in one of the national parks along the way. Rishikesh + Mussoorie can be another good combination. Religious activities in Rishikesh and relaxation in Mussoorie. There are couple of adventure activities for your 11 year old.

@loud-artist-61521 thanks for suggestion and updated the post I am based out in Mumbai

You will be flying to all places then. I would defer to others if Kashmir and Meghalaya make sense if you land in Srinagar and Shillong. Rishikesh trip makes sense if you want lot of activity. Coorg will definitely be a much more relaxed trip of the bunch. Do check temperatures in these places. And I don’t have kids so don’t fully understand their needs.

We did Coorg pre pandemic - flew to Bangalore and took a cab and personally, did not find the 6-7h road trip worth it. Then, we had a 6y old and a 1.5y old. (I am from Pune). You'd need to book an Innova or similar vehicle (SUV) types for your party given the number -- which can result in car sickness for children and elders alike. YMMV. (Depending on how your parents and children react to road trips). We are just back from a 2 week trip to Bandrol (next to Kullu) and had a lovely time - but it too involved a 8h drive from Chandigarh which will not be worth it for a 5 day trip. Another option could be to fly to Bhuntar airport in Kullu to avoid the road trip. So Mum -> Chandigarh -> Bhuntar (or Mum -> Del -> Bhuntar).

Did you do all bookings yourself or any travel advisor/agent was involved?
l
We do all the bookings ourselves. First week of June is actually a good time for Kullu / Manali - but given that most schools in Delhi / Haryana close around that time, it becomes a bit crowded. Hence, we chose to stay at an Airbnb at Bandrol - we were 20m from Kullu & 40m from Manali.

Hearing similar things about Kashmir. Meghalaya seems like something for monsoon. So confused

Have you explored Cordelia Cruise as an option? They have a 5 day cruise - Mumbai > Goa > Lakswdeep > Mumbai Kids under 12 sail for free.
FYI, their last cruise is in the end of May and then they resume their operations in October.
