Have you guys faced any comp reduction (or reduction in other perks) from firms that offer remote/permanent WFH?
Context: My roommate is finishing up his Masters and concluded an internship of ~8 months recently. Now, the firm has given him two options:-
a) take 50K/month in-hand salary and continue WFO; b) take 35K/month in-hand salary and continue WFH. He went for option b).

More perks to WFH. Companies offering one-time home-office setup bonus for tables, monitors etc.

This is given by companies offering hybrid option too. I received this from a startup I used to work for earlier.
b
we had a upper cap at 10% based on city tier but 30% change looks huge
d
Have seen differences only when companies account for cost living at the office city.
e
Leave that company. There are better places to work.

i would say that your roommate's company does not value employee happiness! they are just looking to extract the maximum work at minimum cost. He should reject that position and search for something much better if he is okay with that.
