Can someone suggest me the best way or free app to record screen and reduce hissing post recording. I am learning to share my knowledge with others. I could record the video with windows screen recorder post which there is lot of hissing in video.

Hey #tribe I have a curious question for people working remotely for sometime now: • Have you ever thought of moving back and work with Indian startups?

I'm kind of considering this as I miss working with fast growing startups in the Indian startup ecosystem and want to eventually start my own startup (Learning, Networking, etc becomes imp here).

Also, because I think my remote experience may not be very relevant in case I plan to join a B2C consumer / tech startup few years down the line - as relevant past experience matters in senior roles. (PS: experience relevancy won't be true for Techies, I'm from Marketing background so talking in that context).

• Have ever made a switch back to Indian startup/company? If so, what are the general challenges?

E.g: a) Salary: You may probably end up taking a pay cut (do correct me if I'm wrong) b) Experience relevancy in context of my first point. c) Others.

Hey #tribe I need help regarding medical insurance for my parents, my sister (elder) and myself. How can I decide how much cover should I go for? What should be the setup? I have heard it’s better to have different policy for parents and yourself (which kinda makes sense) but not 100% sure why. Hey #tribe,I am new to this platform and it was introduced to me by my sister  Sheeba. The responses I found to some of the queries by fellow tribeswo(men) encouraged me to post my story in the making. 

A quick introduction about me

 I took voluntary retirement after 25 years in the Army - while at Army, had been more of a techno manager and a people person at the operator end of technology. The closest I have been to development was during my MTech (sponsored by the Army), while developing  a Neural Network based Network Intrusion Detection system with C++, that’s 15 years back. Since my voluntary retirement 2 years back, I am with a MNC, as a  technology business services professional demanding basic SQL knowledge.

My Ask

 I have been reading up on Blockchain and targeting Hyper Ledger Fabric; at some point, I was contemplating pursuing CHFA and/or CHFD certification . I am keen to pursue and seek mentors to guide. I understand I need to up-skill on Node.JS and may be more , I also understand I am 49 and may be not at the right age to take the plunge but I want to come to that conclusion after I have tried or with a realistic assessment based on inputs from the  #tribe  Seek guidance to take  my story further!

Any parent working remotely from tier 3 cities? Do you feel a need to move to better cities for child education? I am currently working from my native place (Jamnagar) and I am enjoying it. Can someone please suggest me economical webcam with durability my inbuilt webcam broke and technician was not confident opening the laptop saying its 2 in 1 and may broke the touch if tried opening. So he suggested use a external webcam as everything is perfectly fine

For anyone who depends on 4G networks while travelling: I recently purchased a 4G router, TP Link MR100 (~ Rs 4500/-), which has detachable antenna. You can buy antennae (~ Rs 500 for a pair) like this. I have Vodafone, Jio and Airtel SIM cards. Vodafone used to be the poorest quality with phone/dongle. After switching to this router, the difference is visibly big. I have steady ping throughout day, rare drops on calls. These routers are small, light and seem to work way better than dongles. Hope it helps.

I would like to ask the RI tribe: • How many of us feel there is a strong personal need for independent/remote lifestyle? I ask this as being one for a very long time and I have led engineering teams across many startups globally. Currently I am in a new, super early stage startup. Founder is ex-Uber, this is a Valley based startup. We are pushing for remote first. I live in a Himalayan village by choice and this choice also shapes a few of my work-related philosophies.

What wireless headphones do people prefer to use when on a run? I was looking at some options which are not true wireless. JBL Endurance Run BT and One Plus Bullets Wireless Z caught my eye but the latter doesn't have sweatproof certification. The JBL one has but the reviews say the build quality isn't very good. Edit: I specifically don't want true wireless ones as I feel they are prone to get lost. Already own a pair of OnePlus Bullets and was very close to losing them several times.
