Quick question Usually when companies ship laptops to their new recruits, do they ship second hand/used pieces with the box or is it always a fresh one? What do you think of some sort of a Whisper network channel here? It’s a way for me to say, reach out to anyone working at Google or Microsoft. I see other slack communities have this as a way to network internally. I guess we can technically say #tribe is for that but I feel like it’s used for so many other things too (nomad life, recommendations, remote work etc)

Hey Tribe, somebody in the community needs your tips and advice to help cope with feelings of loneliness and isolation. Everything below this line has been mentioned by the anonymous poster. Please respond with compassion and wisdom 🙏 --- I feel very lonely these days and can't figure out a way to deal with this. Feels like my life lacks context. I was done with my college around 4 years back, freelanced for about 2 years and then got a job, working from home for about 2 years now. The problem I am facing is that I don't have anyone IRL to talk to. I don't have friends IRL around me. I've never had close friends whom I would text everyday, but when you're in college or office, you are always surrounded by people with whom you socialize. It gives context to your life that you belong to this specific part of society. I'm not in touch with anyone from college and school and since I've been WFH for the last 4 years, I've lost this context. At times, I don't understand which part of society I belong to. I've no one to talk to IRL. I wake up, work, go for a walk in the evening and done for the day. There's little to no human interaction IRL. I'm an introvert and still this has been bothering me a lot lately as my social life took a serious hit in the last 4 years. My anxiety is at peak because of this. I don't have anyone IRL whom I can call/text when I feel like talking. I understand the most obvious solution to this is to join hobby clubs and hangout with like minded people, but I live in a very small town and we don't have all this here. I don't even have too many people from my school/college living here. I'm thinking about moving to the city where my employer is based, but again I would have to go to WFH anyway because no one comes to the office. I don't even know anyone in the city so it would again feel lonely. I'm stuck in this catch 22 situation and feel like there's no way out of this.
