The doc Namespaces and autoloading says "Class and defined type names can be broken up into segments called namespaces", possibly indicating namespacing is restricted to those - although other code pieces, like functions, seem to support that too. The doc Custom resources always mention a fixed naming schema, both for types and providers, both for developing with the API or the low level method, without any mention of possibly namespacing. So I would bet it's just not possible today.
