Hey @Robert Waffen were just looking to find out. Probably a key issue in this would be is it intended to make a profit in anyway or just for person use distribution?
@Robert Waffen we should have an answer from legal next week
r
its more or less the second thing. i want to bundle it to have a quick dev setup to develop and test code against a PE setup.

Cool totally make sense and is a good use case ill catch up with legal next week. Normally I've found we just need to have the right words somewhere to be clear how its allowed to be used 👍

do we have some infos from the legal department by now?

Sorry Robert I appreciate this has taken ages my holidays and the person in legals holidays collided with mine but the current answer I was given is "not for puppet enterprise. We would need to have a lot more restrictions in place and a written agreement with someone who is trying to package and deploy puppet enterprise and distribute publicly using any sort of container or packaged delivery system." I'm going to take this up in my new role for us to meet internally with legal and product leadership to discuss properly as this for me is something clearly missing in the tooling ecosystem. The PE trial has often been used by orgs in various guises to have development labs and its clear in general we need a much statement and setup around it all.

okay. understood, and seeing forward to any new developments in this area. because a packaged/containerized PE would be a good thing to have.

not currently this is on my to do / reminder list and I have not lost track we do need to revisit this. Our content and tooling team has grown allowing us to dedicate members to tooling and content specifically. So we should have more time to look at this as the teams settle
