    we do a bunch of puppet trainings and I would like to bring some boards onsite and demonstrate different PE setups with failover

    yeah, it required changes to both the agent and puppetserver

    both have to have the capability for it to work. New agents signal that they can auto-renew when talking to puppetserver

    the argument I always here is 'we want long term support' yeah well to get that you need to be on the latest LTS patch release. doesn't matter if we patch the LTS on a regular basis or the STS. the only difference is that STS gets potential performance enhancements and new features faster

    The LTS is technically not supposed to get any new features. Bug fixes and security issues only.
