unrelated question.. what is the status of PCT &amp; PRM projects?

Good question! The focus, at the moment is back on the original PDK.

PCT and PRM were/are great initiatives and we learned alot from them. For example, the way PCT handled templating was great and this is something we will be looking to introduce in PDK soon.

Why has it moved back? Well it kind of makes sense for us right now. PDK has been around for a while and is used by a lot of people so it feels right that we build on the platform we already have.. and try to include some of our learnings.

I’d like to see tighter co-operation with Bolt.. so I made the plan validator as a feature I miss (and it was low-hanging fruit actually)

recently I implemented an PDK-managed Puppet Bolt control repo.. and there was some intersections.. can’t remember out of my head though

what is nice is ability to manage modules with Bolt

btw, PDK’s control repo feature flag might be not really suitable for real-life usage..

for me it was easier to add metadata.json than to working around the control_repo flag

e.g. I was unable to use it on my Mac M1 so I went Beaker way.. though using Bolt as a provisioning tool is really amazing idea

I even started to imagine how can I reinvent this weel.. but fortunately stopped on very early stage :smile:

Litmus status … it’s still there! We actually use it internally quite heavily.

the main issue was missing Docker for M1 :smile: so I started to use lima with podman instead

so if our litmus images were compatible with podman - that would solve your issue?

there was another issue with Docker &amp; nerdctl in lima.. something related to cgroups in Ubuntu.. so I was unable to use those 2

though I think it should be possible to use those but 1) it should be slow because every binary will run under qemu-x86_64; 2) I didn’t tried actually
