Hi @schickling, thanks for inviting me to slack, graph.cool looks great, could I get an invite code to get stuck in?

Thanks thats fantastic. Possibly discussed above but are there plans to bring graphql subscriptions into the service?

Very good point @lostboy. We indeed have plans to support this feature in the future. We also have to see how client-side libs are evolving.

Sounds good, it seems still up in the air. By the way where are your servers geographically?

@lostboy: Did you see the talk from react europe about the future of graphQL?

Yeah, provides a look at what they are working on. My reading is that we can expect something standardised in the next 3-6 months and then we will implement that standard.

Our servers are in Ireland btw. Do you have any specific requirements?

Are you on AWS in Ireland? Most my client apps are there so ideally i'm looking for something on there

Yes we are. Great! At some point we’ll enable you to replicate data to other regions for fast local queries as well. Would love to set up a short skype call at some point to hear more about your use case if you would be interested in that?

Hey! Thank you for this great product. I have an issue though with the installation of the open-source repos— both the API and the dashboard. Impossible to install dependencies. Node v4.4.5 and npm v3.9.5. Do you have any idea?

Hi @loicsaintroch! Glad you like what we’re doing! What kinda error messages are you getting?

Dependencies looks to be well installed on the dashboard but it cannot build the front. However, the error message from npm for the API: Cannot find module 'estraverse-fb’.

I honestly didn’t try to take a look at the code, I was just frustrating to not be able to launch it that I came to you directly 😛

So about the dashboard. To run it locally it expects a local backend server, however you can change that in the
    webpack.config.js

About the API repository. We probably should add a bit more documentation up, we also had some problem with this dependency, but we’re using Node 5 internally.

What’s your usecase to spin up the API? 🙂

I see. Yes a bit more info could be great! Like requirements. Nothing special for now, just taking a look at the product. Don’t forget the license (if any) for the dashboard BTW.

@loicsaintroch: have you tried our hosted version already? Should be way easier for you to get started.

Yes I tried. But I’m not a huge fan of SaaS, that’s why your open-source version look very interesting to me. 🙂

Yeah, that makes sense. It’s not our highest priority at the moment but we have plans to provide resources how to spin up your own infrastructure!
