and it doesnt even have to be edgeDB specifically. I meant more like just expanding on graphql as it currently is. But I guess that's more something relay and apollo need to do

It just feels like there are some big holes in graphql currently which is fine if you running a graphql server and can do the filtering and so forth in the resolvers, but when using graphcool thats not possible. Right now its not even possible to easily get a list of all items that have a value for a specified property

@Pieter thanks a lot for bringing this up. While EdgeDB seems fairly new and it will probably take years until it can be considered for production use cases, I’d love to hear which kind of “big holes” you see it filling

@Pieter I seem to be missing what should change of DB layer that Graphcool is using result in ... how is it relevant? what could be interesting if Graphcool would allow to use custom DB layer and allowed to define resolvers in some easy way otherwise if you are running into limitations of GraphQL, I think you are kinda barking at the wrong tree 🙂

@leonard.achanya once again, do you have a specific problem? I am sure that not many people knows framework you are talking about ... either way, you should probably look into general solutions to GraphQL with PHP ... on my opinion it's obsolete language ... so have fun 🙂

Hey, is anyone able to point me in the right direction for populating and updating my graph.cool data? In short, I run a script somewhat regularly. On first run (or faced with new data) I have a mutation adding things properly. If a field already exists based on a unique key, is there a way to update it in the same mutation? I’d prefer not to pull all my data and compare off the bat, but can’t think of another way to do it
