question: im running an aws lambda function after creating an entity in graph.cool, i want to wait for the aws lambda function to complete, how do i do so?

create entity -&gt; aws lambda runs -&gt; aws lambda complete -&gt; create success

currently faulty workflow is:
create entity -&gt; aws lambda runs -&gt; create success -&gt; aws lambda completes

I assume you would have to “create success” from within the lambda function, i.e. send a mutation back to graph.cool as the last thing in your lambda handler code.

im looking for a synchronous, clean way of solving this, from searching throug  the documentation, as of now I dont think its possible?

What <@U4RMUF7GV> proposes is the only way to achieve this right now. It is kind of redundant but remains clean if you handle the states of your nodes properly. You can declare an ENUM for different status and let your lambda function mutate the status to DONE when it completes

hi, i’m trying to do graphcool-algolia integration, why does my data stop working when i add the createdAt field to the searchable?

interesting! What happens if you create a new node, or update an existing node. Does it still not work?

it works perfectly if i don’t have the createdAt

once createdAt is added, nothing syncs to algolia

how does the algolia gets updated? I deleted a record in graphcool, the correspinding data in algolia still exists

Hi! I have a tags: [String!]! field in my model. However, there's nothing (such as "tags_contains" or even plain "tags") generated in the filter for this fields (all other fields work)

<@U4YTKRKB6> hey, we don't feature filters for scalar lists as in your case yet. A possible workaround is promoting the string field to a model that contains a string field

A very typical model of a Post that has Tags associated with it, like in a blog

Then I'd like to filter all Posts that have for example Tag "food" present in it's Tag [String] field

I see! In this case you can instead create a new model `Tag` with the field `key: String`

then you have a many-to-many relation between `Post` and `Tag`

this would be a query for all travel posts :slightly_smiling_face:

That works, thanks! Any thoughts on best practices when creating a new post with multiple tags: should I check for existing tags and create new ones for ones that don't yet exist or try to create them all and see which ones bounce since the key field is Unique?

I think only creating new ones works best

When I look up a related field in the databrowser, it shows no items, even though the field in the databrowser indicates an existing node.

Hey team if you get a list of ids from algolia and you need extra info should you do an individual query using filter on each id or is there an easy way to query all of them through one call?

You could combine `@skip`/`@include`, or just handle the different queries in your app logic

so if you don't have a list of ids, you just use `allBites` without any filter at all

I don't know the syntax for arrays in iOS, but it's probably something like this:

I'm wondering how to model a many-to-many where there are additional fields on the join.

I was looking through the UI and docs and couldn't find it.

It's a basic task management modeling scenario.

Issues have many Iterations, Iterations have many Issues

But IterationIssues have additional fields like status, order, etc.

and what additional information do you want to store?

So I should model it like a traditional SQL schema with a join table?

So you can create a model `IterationIssues`. One `IterationIssue` is connected to many `Issue`s and many `Iteration`s

then the `IterationIssue` can also store the status and order

OK great. That's easy enough. I was thinking I was supposed to do it on the relation itself.

oh wait. what do you want to express with the `order`?

It looks like I'm supposed to end it with `__Connection`... is that a thing?

`order` is a sort-order within a `status`.
